I know the polite thing to do is to look for the positives in a given situation, but for me, here, that is like saying what a great thing it is that they are fattening up the calf. The end point is slaughter. So do I celebrate the extra calories of normalcy that we are being given in the mean time? We are being fattened up for the benefit of others, not so we can live long, healthy lives. To the extent that America is made strong, that strength will be drained in full measure, for the benefit of a foreign power, until it is used up. What is portrayed as an attempt to assassinate Trump was nothing of the sort. It was a ritual of initiation.
I used to watch economic data and the nuances of geopolitical events, until I saw a pattern - the real power is invisible and the best vantage point is spiritual. We're going to be on our own, because The People are, sadly, easily fooled, and therefore easily manipulated. They wanted bread and circuses in the past, and nothing has really changed, in spite of what is described as a transient awakening. The People can be whipped up to support almost anything, if they perceive that their security is being threatened. The masses offer no safe harbor from what is to come. They will be made to embrace it.
The only safe harbor is to know what you believe, why you believe it, and to go through a rigorous process of finding the strongest arguments against your beliefs to test the truth of your convictions - as a lifetime habit. In the end, each one of us will have to find our strength and our comfort in what we believe, as a totalitarian net is thrown over our heads. So this is the time to get rid of uncertainties. The course of events has been written down, not so that we can change it, but so that we can know the outcome and stand firm - and above all, end up on the winning side. The outcome was known two thousand years ago, and those who prosecute these wars in the name of Christianity will pay the price in eternity.
